Now that's an extreme difference, good job apple 🍎
Got the 13 mini and I love it. I was afraid I wouldn’t be used to the small size (coming from the XS Max) but honestly it feels refreshing to not have a brick in my pocket, and to be able to text with one hand and hold the phone comfortably on one hand. Love it! Also it’s actually not as small as I thought. The overall size is about the same size as the iPhone 6S (screen is way bigger though)
I recently upgraded from the iPhone 7 to the 13 Pro Max and I’ve been super impressed with the battery life of the 13 Pro Max. I’ve been able to use this phone (moderate usage) without charging this phone for over a day and a half, which is a HUGEEE upgrade compared to the 7 which would go from 100% to 5% in less than an hour 😅 Overall, pretty impressed :)
I finally upgraded from an iPhone 6s to an iPhone 13 mini (I prefer smaller size phones) and I’m very happy with it so far. My battery was absolutely dead with the 6s and I’d have to constantly have it in low-power mode and charging wherever I went so I could use it all day. So nice to not have to constantly worry about that now. I was at work 8+ hours the other day with no charger and it lasted all day no problem.
Love to see these kinds of battery life improvements. Even if almost nobody will realistically need the 10hrs of battery life of the 13 Pro Max, it's still great news for people (like me) who want to keep their phones for 4-5 years. Even if your battery is down to only 60% of its original capacity after 3-4 years, you'll most likely still be able to get through the day without worrying about your phone dying.
Fascinating video, I have the 13mini and I have thought the battery was terrible, it actually held up better than I expected!
My iphone7 with a full battery-
Just got the 13 pro today. Very pleased with the battery. I would’ve purchased the max for even longer battery life but I don’t want a larger phone. Including, this battery test does have every phone on a higher brightness setting. So it’ll last longer for me since I never really keep it that high.
I'm curious how the phone handles charging from empty, vs charging while still functioning. In the past, phone batteries would not live as long if you constantly kept it charged or let it die too often. Although that might be a test that takes months to perform, and by the time you could make a video of it, there will probably be a new IPhone already...
I’ve had a 13 Pro Max for about 9 months now. I use it fairly heavily for projects (average 9-10 hours of screen time per day). Battery health is like 97. Still comfortably get a whole day and then some, with video and camera usage. It’s super impressive and hugely better than my prior 7 and XR.
I went from iPhone 8 to the regular iPhone 13. I've been shocked and very pleased with how great the battery life is, and the phone in general.
Looking at 13 Pro max battery kinda remind me to my Macbook M1 battery which still have around 60% remaining after using about 7-8 hours of working.
The way he said “He just came in, created chaos, and left. I’m not impressed” so calmly has me dead XD
I have the iPhone 13 Pro Max and this was one of the main reasons I bought it. It's without competition. I usually charge it every 2-3 days, which is a novum for me since most Samsungs I got were either at zero or had only 20-30% left after a work day. With the 13 Pro Max I still have 70+% left. It's impressive!
I'm so baffled at how the 12 has somehow lost considerably quite a few minutes from last years battery life. Was expecting it to outperform the 13 mini
The Pro series while having great battery life, also weighs like a brick.
I’m thinking of upgrading my 2nd gen SE for a 13 mini next year because I got my current phone 6 months ago and I have some complaints, but it is still better than my 1st gen SE. Battery life is something that I tend to monitor a lot and I can get through most of the day or even all of it if I am conservative with my screen time. Outdated design is another complaint and I often see myself wishing that I had gotten an 11 or a 12 mini. Screen size is something else that I’m not a massive fan of but I don’t totally mind, until I look at my dad’s 12 mini. I could have more screen real estate with a slightly smaller package, but also better battery life. Accessing the control centre gets difficult sometimes, especially when typing, watching videos or scrolling on social media. Touch ID is a great feature especially with the mask mandate but I think the features brought by Face ID is better. I wish I could just tap my display and see my screen but I have to press the home button, power button or raising my phone to wake it up and it is sometimes an inconvenience. Overall, I would probably upgrade from an SE to a 13 mini next year because I’ve had my 2020 SE since my birthday in may, plus the price might drop a little on the 13 mini when the 14 releases. The 2020 SE isn’t a terrible phone for someone upgrading from a 6 or a 2016 SE but I just think the 13 mini is the best value for money out of the current available iPhones even if the SE is a nice and cheap option into the apple ecosystem, it’s very outdated and doesn’t have the greatest battery life.
I would say a precise test requires every phone on the same OS or at least all using batteries of the exact same age and size. Newer OS's are usually far more bloated and tend to drain cpu and battery life more. Downgrading an old phone usually gives you a lot of battery life back, at the expense of security and risking bricking your phone.
My 12 pro max lasts about 6-7 hours with heavy use and I feel like that’s a lot. Nearly 10 hours for the 13 pro max is insane. Not enough for me to upgrade but a great one for people with the 11 or X
